The Japanese Society of Disaster Medicine was established in the wake of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in 1995. Currently, it is an academic society consisting of about 5,000 members carrying out clinical and research activities intended to protect as many lives and health as possible from disasters.

It is expected that the field of drone utilization in Japan will make dramatic progress in the next 5 to 10 years. Still, large-scale disasters will not cease in the future, and it will be necessary to utilize drones at various disaster sites. The "safety" is indispensable for the effective use of drones.
